1. General
- LOCKY provides a paid, self-service temporary storage service for ordinary travel luggage in individual lockable lockers.
- These Terms form the standard contractual conditions and should be made available before the Customer enters into the agreement. Payment and commencement of use constitute a storage agreement subject to these Terms.
- The Service is intended for adults. A minor may use a locker only under the responsibility of a parent or legal guardian.
- Polish law applies, including mandatory consumer protection rules and the Civil Code provisions governing storage.
2. Price, storage time and start of service
- The price depends on locker size and storage time. The current price list must be visible and available before payment. Consumer prices include applicable taxes.
- Luggage must be collected before the end of the paid period. Additional charges may apply after that time in accordance with the price list presented before the Service begins.
- Early collection does not automatically entitle the Customer to a refund for unused time unless required by law or separately published terms.
- If a locker is unavailable due to a technical issue after payment, the Operator will, depending on availability, offer a suitable alternative locker or refund the price of the unperformed service.
3. Correct use of lockers
- The Customer must select a locker suitable for the luggage and place the luggage correctly inside it.
- Do not overfill the locker, force luggage inside, obstruct the locking mechanism, leave items protruding from the locker, or attempt to force the door open.
- After placing luggage inside, the Customer should physically check that the door is fully closed and locked.
- The Customer is liable for damage to the equipment caused by culpable or improper use, including forcing the door or lock or overfilling the locker.
4. Access code / PIN
- Any code, PIN, QR code or other access credential is confidential and must be protected from third parties.
- The Operator is not responsible for access obtained because the Customer voluntarily disclosed access credentials to another person, to the extent the incident results from that disclosure.
- Loss or disclosure of an access code should be reported immediately.
- Before emergency access is provided, the Operator may request reasonable evidence of entitlement to collect the luggage, such as proof of payment, locker number, start time or identification.
5. Items not accepted for storage
- No item may be stored if its possession, handling or storage is unlawful.
- Prohibited items include weapons and ammunition, explosives, flammable, toxic, corrosive or radioactive substances, illegal drugs, live or dead animals, waste, stolen goods, and anything capable of endangering people, property or other luggage.
- Do not store perishable, leaking or strongly odorous food or goods.
- LOCKY is not a specialist valuables deposit service. Customers should not store cash, payment cards, jewellery, precious metals or stones, identity or travel documents, keys, artwork, collectibles, media containing the only copy of important data, or life-critical medication.
- The Operator may refuse storage if an item, its condition, smell, packaging or other circumstances reasonably indicate a breach of these Terms or a safety risk.
6. Opening a locker by the Operator
- The Operator may open a locker without prior consent only where reasonably necessary, including risk to life, health or property; technical malfunction; suspected prohibited items; the need to protect luggage; substantial overstay; or a lawful request from Police, a court, Fire Service or another authorised authority.
- Where reasonably practicable, the opening will be documented and access limited to persons whose involvement is necessary.
- The Operator may notify the relevant authorities where a crime or genuine safety risk is suspected.
7. Liability
- The Operator will exercise reasonable care in providing the Service, maintaining the lockers and securing the storage location.
- Liability for loss, destruction or damage is determined under mandatory applicable law. These Terms do not exclude liability where exclusion would be unlawful.
- The Operator is not responsible to the extent a loss is caused by the Customer, including failure to lock the door, sharing access credentials, overfilling, inadequate packing, leaving property outside the locked locker or storing prohibited items.
- The Operator does not guarantee that a Customer will meet a particular flight, train, bus, event or other connection. Customers should allow sufficient time for collection. This does not affect liability arising under mandatory law.
8. Technical failures and emergencies
- In case of malfunction, contact the assistance number displayed at the Location.
- The Operator will take reasonable steps to restore access or safely return luggage once the right to collect it has been verified.
- Where necessary for safety, the Operator may temporarily close some or all lockers.
9. Uncollected luggage and overstay
- Additional charges apply after expiry of the paid period as stated in the price list.
- Where an overstay prevents normal use of the locker, the Operator may, after a reasonable period, open the locker and move the luggage to a secure area. If contact details are available, the Operator will attempt to contact the Customer.
- The Customer may be charged reasonable additional storage or handling fees if those fees were stated in the applicable price list.
- Uncollected luggage does not automatically become the Operator’s property. Further handling follows applicable law. Dangerous, perishable or hazardous items may be secured, removed or handed to competent authorities where necessary.
10. Complaints and loss reports
- Complaints may be submitted to the e-mail or postal address stated at the beginning of this document.
- Where possible, a complaint should include the locker number, date and time, description of the incident, proof of payment, description and approximate value of items and contact details.
- Loss, theft or damage should be reported as soon as reasonably possible and supporting evidence preserved where available.
- The Operator responds within the period required by applicable law and aims operationally to respond within 14 days unless a different statutory period applies.
11. CCTV and security
- Common areas may be covered by CCTV for the protection of persons and property, prevention of theft and vandalism, investigation of incidents and the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
- Cameras cover common areas and the locker zone; they are not intended to view the inside of closed lockers.
- Monitoring is video-only, without audio recording. Detailed information is set out in the Privacy Policy.
12. Final provisions
- The current Terms are available at the Location and electronically at lockylodz.pl/en/terms.
- Changes apply to agreements concluded after the revised Terms take effect unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
- The Polish and English versions are intended to describe the same conditions. In case of interpretive differences, the Polish version prevails to the extent permitted by mandatory consumer law applicable to the Customer.
